Cylinders with a hint of gold:
For my final project I made cylinders. My first five cylinders I made exploded in the kiln but I persevered and made another five. I'm very proud of how they turned out; all had even thickness and had 90 degree angles at the bottom. I dipped the bottom of my cylinders in red gold glaze in order to make me pieces cohesive. I am happy with my decision of doing red gold glaze on the bottom of my pieces instead of doing handles like I planned.
Tea pot forestation
For my tea pot project I made a medium sized tea pot. I used greenish black glaze in order to make my piece pop. I also picked that color glaze because it would compliment the other pieces of art on display at my house. I struggled making my handle but after trial and error I was able to make a tea pot I'm proud of.
Snowy Creation
For my dinner wear set I mad a bowl, a plate, and a cup. I dipped them all in white glaze because I wanted to keep it basic and classy. I'm very pleased with how my pieces compliment each other and the pieces truly look like a set when put together. I struggled most with trimming my plate but I was able to get rid of the extra clay and make a light weight plate.
Animals are friends
For my "Your Voice Matters" project I choice to voice animal abuse. I believe animals should not be used to fight other animals and be hurt by humans. I made a pinch pot and I am very pleased with its turn out. I enjoy being able to speak my beliefs.
Steak Slab
For my "Dish for your Dish" project I made a slab and turned it into a steak plate. I chose a steak plate because steak is my favorite food. It was hard hand building with a lot of clay but I was able to make it work. I kept flattening the clay and pinching with my fingers in order to make a flat, functioning plate.
